I collected over 65 OPEN signs in Amsterdam’s city center, and then I manipulated them in various ways which are gathered in a publication. Throughout the experiments, the word NOPE came out, as an anti-capitalist logo. Following the concept of Détournement, I used the same commercial visual language, shiny, flashy, cheap. It can also imply closed. NOPE later became risographs that were spread out over the city of Arnhem, on shoop vitrines, public toilets, stores, and closed buildings.
